It’s recipe time here at The Suburban Life and boy do I have a doozy for you.\u00a0 This dish is one that ticks all the important boxes.\u00a0 It’s delicious.\u00a0 It’s easy.\u00a0 It uses ingredients you may have in your fridge.\u00a0 It’s a crowd-pleaser.\u00a0 It might impress people.\u00a0 If you care about that kind of stuff.\u00a0 Which I don’t.\u00a0 Since I tend to simplify pretty much anything I can.\u00a0 And I prefer to impress people with my witty personality over my skills in the kitchen.\u00a0 Because they generally lack.\u00a0 And may not actually qualify as “skills” per se.\u00a0 Come to think of it, I’m not all that witty either.<\/p>\n

Bacon wrapped chicken.<\/p>\n

Bacon Wrapped Cordon Bleu Chicken<\/h2>\n

Serves 4<\/p>\n

Ingredients:<\/h3>\n
    \n
  • 8 Chicken Tenders<\/li>\n
  • 8-16 slices of bacon (depending on size and thickness)<\/li>\n
  • 4 oz softened cream cheese<\/li>\n
  • 2 green onions, sliced<\/li>\n
  • 4 oz deli ham, chopped<\/li>\n
  • 1\/2 cup swiss cheese, shredded (can substitute provolone or any meltable cheese)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Directions:<\/h3>\n
      \n
    1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees;<\/li>\n
    2. Pound thawed chicken tenders until about 1\/4″ thin;<\/li>\n
    3. Combine cream cheese, onions, deli ham and swiss cheese in bowl, mixing well;<\/li>\n
    4. Spoon 1 -2 Tbs of cream cheese mixture into center of each chicken tender and roll up, keeping the cheese to the center;<\/li>\n
    5. Wrap bacon around rolled chicken tender and secure with toothpick if needed;<\/li>\n
    6. Bake on baking sheet for 30 minutes and then broil topside for 5 minutes to crisp, turn tender over and broil other side for additional 5 minutes.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Enjoy.\u00a0 Don’t think about the calories.\u00a0 Bacon is a protein.\u00a0 It’s natural and from nature.\u00a0 So is cream cheese.\u00a0 I mean, it has natural stuff in it.\u00a0 Swiss cheese?\u00a0 Do the Swiss people do anything wrong?\u00a0 And then there’s ham (see bacon, above).<\/p>\n
