A Little Sunshine to Brighten the Gloom!<\/p><\/div>\n

Good afternoon Friends!<\/p>\n

What a positive, optimistic, glass half-full (of Captain Morgan, no less!) blog title, eh?<\/p>\n

It’s just one of those ugly kinda days.\u00a0 The sky is gray.\u00a0 And not a gorgeous chevron-striped pillow\u00a0type of gray either.\u00a0 The dismal kind.\u00a0 Frizz-inducing misty rain is coming down.\u00a0 It’s cold.\u00a0 But it’s not cold.\u00a0 Not cold enough to make you look outside and say to yourself, “Ah, that darn Winter!\u00a0 Oh, well!\u00a0 Let’s stoke up the fire and drink some spiked hot chocolate!”\u00a0 No.\u00a0 It’s more like, “Do I wear a sweatshirt or coat?\u00a0 Oh, WHY did I dry that sweatshirt on high?!\u00a0 And my coat makes me look like the Michelin Man’s fat cousin, May.”\u00a0 And did I mention I’m bored?\u00a0 Not the type of bored where I get all motivated and start home organizational\u00a0projects.\u00a0 Nah.\u00a0 The type of bored where I stare out the window at the gray, misty, cold day and bitch about how bored I am.\u00a0 Functional, ain’t I?\u00a0 \ud83d\ude2f<\/p>\n

Okay.\u00a0 Moment over.\u00a0 Time to regroup.<\/p>\n

That’s the kind of grump I am.\u00a0 I verbalize and then I move on.\u00a0 Now, if you’re the unfortunate recipient of my verbalization then it may induce you into a grumpy mood in which case, we must part ways.\u00a0 Because from one grump to another, we’re no fun to be around.\u00a0 But, maybe you’re the type to cuff someone on the shoulder and say, “Snap out of it!\u00a0 Now let’s go get Buster Bars at DQ!”\u00a0 Then, then we can hang.\u00a0 And we all get our turn to be the one or the other.<\/p>\n

So which are you?\u00a0 Do you find yourself falling into the well of self-pity when you’re around people who suck the air out of the room?\u00a0 Or do you encapsulate your spunky\u00a0little spirit in protection and weather the grump storm?<\/p>\n

I am a firm believer in acknowledging the crap and then moving far, far away from it.\u00a0 I do not like to wallow in it because it makes you, well, stink.\u00a0 It’s crap, people.\u00a0 The fact is, we all get grumpy.\u00a0 It’s how you pull yourself out of it that defines you.\u00a0 My plan?\u00a0 I’m going to have that hot chocolate with a healthy\u00a0<\/em>spill or two of Kahlua and dive right into catching up with Game of Thrones.\u00a0 Yep, functional.<\/p>\n
