Happy Halloween friends!<\/p>\n

Every year this spooky holiday sneaks up and scares the bejeezus out of me. \u00a0Appropriate, no? \u00a0It’s not the ghouly ghosts or extra 10 pounds from too many fun-sized Snickers that sends shivers down my spine. \u00a0It’s the costume preparation. \u00a0My kidlets can be of the eclectic variety and have approached me with various costume ideas. \u00a0I have considered and promptly turned down many a request due to the extra work to actual time-in-costume ratio.<\/p>\n

That being said, we have had some pretty successful costume situations in this little family over the years and I thought I would share them with you. Full disclosure: \u00a0I am NOT the “make-everything-down-to-the-underpants” type of mom as hinted to above. \u00a0I’m more of the “purchase-or-pilfer-from-better-moms-than-me” type.<\/p>\n

A little batman, anybody? \u00a0Okay, so I pretty much amazed myself with this costume. \u00a0I fashioned it out of some long underpants, an iron on batman patch, black baby briefs (is there anything cuter than tiny buns in briefs??), rubber boots, a borrowed cape from my sister (see above self-description) a sleep mask, and some bat ears that I made out of a headband and felt. \u00a0Phew. \u00a0I’m exhausted just listing the stuff I had to do. \u00a0Yes. \u00a0Pathetic.<\/p>\n

Made nothing. \u00a0I was too busy preening over all my hard work costuming the little mister. \u00a0But ain’t she a beaut?<\/p>\n
