Hey, lady? Do you want to try a skin care product which might make you look younger? Or brighter? Or hydrated? Or smoother?
Duh! Gimme. Thank you, BzzAgent, for the opportunity!
I jumped at the chance to test and review one of the newest products to Paula’s Choice Skin Care, the Resist Hyaluronic Acid Booster, and squealed with delight when the box of products came in the mail.
No, I literally squealed. With delight. And scared my dog. But once she read the included product literature and understood I could potentially be testing a skin-aging game changer, she calmed down.
You need to be aware of one simple personality fact about yours truly. I’m a beauty addict. And that includes skincare. I have tried it all, and honestly, will keep trying it all. But one ingredient I had yet to rotate into my arsenal was hyaluronic acid. Sure, I’ve heard all the buzz about this equal opportunity ingredient. I understood its potential to hydrate dry skin and yada, yada. But at 39 years of age, I hadn’t considered its potential role in my own skin regimen. I have always tended towards a more combination skin profile with an occasionally oily t-zone and mostly normal skin. I’ve focused more time (and money) on lightweight serums, vitamin C, vitamin A and retinols, masks and scrubs, and of course a good dose of broad-spectrum SPF. Insert hyaluronic acid here.
Simply put, this powerhouse ingredient will serve every skin type and age equally. Hyaluronic acid is actually a naturally occurring component in our bodies, and like a lot of things, we stop producing it as we age. That’s why our kids look like juicy little grapes and we look like overly dried raisins. So it would only make sense to boost our skin with a little extra help, no?
This little gem will do just that. The liqui-gel consistency gives the booster a slip which allows it to play well with others. I’ve tried it in all capacities, adding it to my serums, moisturizers and have used it alone. I’m impressed with how quickly it absorbs into my skin without leaving any sticky residue or greasy texture. I’ve noticed an overall brightness to my complexion and a hydration I didn’t even realize I was missing. I’ve also been applying a very small amount to the skin under my eyes and am happy with the results. I’ve always hesitated to use eye creams because sticky eye skin gives me the heebie jeebies. This product sinks right in leaving a smoother and brighter skin behind.
I do plan on purchasing a full size of the Paula’s Choice Resist Hyaluronic Acid Booster, which leads me to my only real negative point regarding the product. The price. At $45.00 for a .67 ounce bottle it packs a bit of a hefty punch to the wallet. (The deluxe .12 ounce trial size is currently on sale for only $9.00 though!) But good, effective ingredients come at a cost. Factoring in and justifying that cost is purely a personal deal. If I could bathe in the stuff I would. There are other various (ahem) body parts which could benefit from a little firmness, but I digress.
